He was originally from Cuba and fled the country to establish a cigar factory in Miami. In 1970 Padron opened a factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. There they make the Padron Aniversary, also known as the Padron Anniversary, the series 1964 cigars and the series 1926 cigars. Padron Cigars are full bodied and handmade in limited quantities. The cigar company is managed by three generations of the Padrόn family. From seed to cigar, all aspects of cigar production are made by the members of the Padron family.
